Duties and Responsibilities
Install interlock, pavers, walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other hardscape elements for commercial and residential projects.
Perform site preparation including excavation, grading, base preparation, and compaction.
Assist with fine grading, levelling, and establishing proper elevations and drainage.
Set up and follow string lines, grades, and site layouts as directed.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete projects.
Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, and manual lifting/carrying as needed.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment (plate compactor, quick cut, saws, etc.) safely and efficiently.
Work alongside equipment operators during excavation, backfilling, and material placement.
Follow direction of the Site Foreman to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
Identify and communicate any site, equipment, or safety issues to supervision in a timely manner.
Assist in winter operations including snow clearing and salting of sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots for residential and commercial properties (as required).
Follow all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and WHMIS guidelines in the performance of duties.
Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented, and productive work environment.

Maneuver heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
Load and offload various materials using heavy equipment.
Perform fine grading, and stripping tasks.
Work with site foreman to complete tasks in a safe and timely manner.
Conduct routine maintenance to ensure the equipment is safe and in proper working order.
Maintain accurate records of on-site activity including time tracking, work orders, health and safety forms, equipment logs, etc.
Assist in winter operations by clearing and salting of snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties during the winter months.
Communicate issues relating to employee relations, equipment issues, customer issues – make suggestions for solutions.
Maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures prescribed by the Company and WHMIS Guidelines in performance of duties.

Our team is growing and we’re seeking a motivated, outcome-oriented Project Manager to guide our projects from start to finish. The successful candidate would be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, while prioritizing safety and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Thunderbolt Contracting is a family-owned landscape contractor located in the Nation’s Capital since 1992. We have a dedicated team of over 150 employees and a modern fleet of equipment to take care of each project from start to finish. Plan the project
Collaboration with senior management
Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project
Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
Review the project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
Call in for locate requests
Provide submittals, shop drawings to architect, and order products for project
Implement the project
Execute the project according to the project plan
Develop forms and records to document project activities
Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
Control the project
Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual targets.
Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures.
Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly/bimonthly)
Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for funders as outlined in funding agreements
Through some initial oversight, assist with the mentorship and development of the operations staff.
Prepare and submit Progress Payment Certificates (PPC's), along with billings to finance department within Company
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in commercial landscape/civil construction
5+ years of project planning/coordination including budgeting
A deep understanding of permits and specifications (TRCA, OPSS, OPSD)
Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
Experience in completing estimates and bid submissions
Experience with CAD Essential Requirements
Clear and concise communication skills
Valid driver's licence in good standing as well as a clean abstract

The ideal candidates will take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, leading crews efficiently, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to Thunderbolt’s standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install interlock, retaining walls, concrete, armour stone, etc.
Install and supervise planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, flowers etc.
Sod and soil installation.
Operate equipment including mini ex, skid steers, tampers, diesel plates, sod rollers quick cuts etc.
Read and interpret plans, drawings and models and set grades.
Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, clients, and other contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct on-site inspections to ensure all installations meet design specifications and quality standards.
Supervise and motivate your crew.
Actively participate in on-the-job training of crew members.
Complete and submit paperwork related to any jobs, maintain written time records and work orders.
Maintain accurate records of on-site activity including time tracking, work orders, health and safety forms, equipment logs, etc.
Communicate issues relating to employee relations, equipment issues, customer issue, and make suggestions for solutions.
